Our current training offers

Secondary prevention in the field of preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE) includes a variety of interventions implemented with communities, groups, and individuals to build resilience to extreme ideologies and to prevent radicalisation processes.

“Basics of secondary prevention” (2 days)

This 2-day training on basics of secondary prevention is for front line professionals in the field of P/CVE and other relevant fields, such as educators, social-workers, community leaders, youth workers, police and others.

The aim is to identify early signs of radicalisation and to strengthen particularly vulnerable groups and individuals in order to protect them from recruitment attempts by extremist groups.

This 2-day training consists of different modules, including input, learning new practices and methods, as well as an opportunity to network with other professionals in your field of work (each course will be profession-specific and therefore adapted to your individual working context). You will also get to know some practical examples and intervention options.

Tertiary prevention in the field of preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE) includes a variety of interventions implemented with violent extremist or terrorist offenders during their imprisonment and afterwards as well as steps towards deradicalisation.

“Basics of tertiary prevention” (2 days)

This 2-day training on basics of tertiary prevention is for practitioners in the field of P/CVE, who are new to the field and want to expand their knowledge or who want to refresh their training. Attending the course is especially interesting for practitioners who work in prison, probation and/or post-release.

The aim of tertiary prevention is to help violent offenders motivated by extremist ideology to change their behaviour through deradicalisation work, to lead a self-reliant life and to rejoin democratic society, in order to prevent extremism of any kind and protect society.

This 2-day training consists of different modules, including input, role-plays, practices and methods, as well as an opportunity to network with other practitioners. You will also get to know some practical examples and intervention options.

The training will be delivered in person, by two trainers for up to twelve participants. It can take place in-house in your institution, or in Violence Prevention Network’s head office in Berlin.
